How Did We Get The Name CAROLINA CONNECTION?

Carolina Connection began its days as Lizzie's Carolina Hosiery Connection in 1985 in mid-town Lynchburg, Virginia. The store's founder and owner for over 20 years was Liz Johnson - and she had the Carolina Connection! Her father owned a hosiery mill in North Carolina and supplied the store with high quality socks and hose. As time passed and the hosiery mill closed, Liz Johnson filled the need of providing Central Virginia with its own dance wear store. Over the years the business has grown to supply a wide selection of major brands of not only dance, but cheer shoes and apparel, gymnastics, and ice skating items. In 2007 Liz Sumpter became the second Liz to own the store. With a new vitality, the new Liz moved the store to a great location and expanded its inventory. We may not have the Carolina connection from the early days - but the name has become THE SOURCE for Central Virginia's dance and body wear needs.
